The settlement is a significant step in resolving an important drug company lawsuit brought by a patient in New Jersey who had been prescribed Crestor as a treatment for high cholesterol. The case involves the company’s own drug, Lipitor, which had a risk of a heart attack and stroke but failed to manage it. The U. District Court for the District of New Jersey ruled in AstraZeneca’s favor on this matter.
